What is a product launch post?
A product launch post is the public announcement of something new you've built. A good one says what it is, who it's for and what to do next, in a few lines. Every example here is a real X post that says "introducing" or "just launched" and was seen by at least 5,000 people.
What should a launch post include?
Four things, in this order: what the product does for someone, proof it works, why you built it, and one next step. Proof is usually a short demo video or a screenshot. Keep the link in the post or the first reply, and be around to answer questions for the first hour.
- The promise. "Introducing X: turn meeting notes into tasks in one click."
- The proof. A 20-second clip beats a paragraph.
- The why. One line on the problem you had.
- The ask. Try it, reply, or repost if it helps someone.
Launch post vs. launch thread
| Compared | Launch post | Launch thread |
|---|---|---|
| Length | One post plus a link | 5 to 8 posts |
| Best for | Simple products, quick demos | Big launches with a story |
| Shows | What it is | What it is, how it works, why |
