What is an outline generator?

An outline generator is a tool that plans a piece of writing before you start. You enter the topic and say whether it's an essay, article, speech or report. It returns numbered sections with the main points under each, so you can see the shape of the whole piece first.

How do I write an outline?

Start with your main point in one sentence. List the three to five sections that prove or explain it, in the order a reader needs them. Under each, add the key points and the evidence you'll use. Then check that every section supports the main point.

Postel learns how you write and drafts LinkedIn and X posts from your notes and links, if you post there too.
